FAQs
Answers to some of your basic questions I recieve, (Got a question? shoot me an e-mail)

Why do you mod?
What makes a good, cool or successful computer mod/hack?
You must have way too much time on your hands to mod, right?

WHY DO YOU MOD?
I mod to try and push the envelope of a users computing experience by taking form and function to the next level. But more specifically I try to inspire others who are more talented and/or have some really amazing ideas that need a little encouragement to take a stab at modding computers/gadgets. I feel computers are one of the most powerful tools a person can posses in our modern times. I am just tinkering at the tip of the mod ice burg if you will, someone, maybe "you" will have the "next" big breakthrough.

WHAT MAKES A GOOD, COOL SUCCESSFUL COMPUTER MOD?
I have been asked several times what makes a good or cool computer mod. One that doesn't kill or permanently mame you in the process, basically. Well it really pretty much depends, mostly on what YOU think a good or cool mod is. You can add or take away devices, change the look, feel and function of your computer with regards to modding the case or devices/components.

What makes a successful or cool mod? It's really up the the modder or computer user. If it serves a special purpose or specific function that help or enhances their computing experience then it's deemed a successful mod in my book. If the user/modder also thinks it looks cool, well then, it is, at least in their own eyes which is the only pair that really counts.

What makes a good or cool mod? Pretty much depends on the eye of the beholder or you can see what a really true mod is with the absolute tell-tell sign here.

YOU MUST HAVE WAY TOO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS, RIGHT?
Time? Lol! I have received a few comments, that to perform some of my mods I must have way too much time on my hands. I've seen these comments posted on a few online forums too which I think is very ironic, (Someone spending time reading forum comments and then using their precious time to comment on how I waste time, very amusing). I have a full-overtime-time job, I also have a son. One thing I rarely do is watch TV, especially with all the reality TV shows that seem to be bombarding society at the moment. If the average joe would exchange his time from lets say watching TV and use it to create/design something, there would be a lot more interesting/useful things I believe. This is just a hobby, much like someone spending time rebuilding a classic car. I enjoy it and I hope to inspire others as well. I feel it is time well spent. Now, where's that remote control ;-)    Or if you prefer, spend some time with Mauk
